To have my infinitely vast identity ripped apart and hyphenated until I am breathless is what I fear. To be judged on how closely each crude fragmented part resembles society’s caricature of what it is supposed to look, think and act like is what I fear. To break from carrying the burden of the myriad of communities I am suppose to “represent” is what I fear.
